NGO : Angel Xpress Foundation (AXF)

Angel Xpress Foundation enables educated and committed citizens to tutor, mentor and guide school going children from slums in their neighbourhoods. We are offering those interested in interacting with children an opportunity to teach them.

Our goal is to create a fun, supportive space where students pick up the skills they need to break generational shackles. We also inculcate values like good citizenship and life skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, so they’re ready for tomorrow.

In today’s world, life skills are just as important as academics. When life skills are integrated into education, students grow in a well-rounded way and are prepared to handle real-world situations confidently. That’s why our life skills curriculum covers 10 core skills recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The objective is to strengthen students' social-emotional learning, self-awareness, communication, resilience, and overall well-being. Our counsellors and mentors support their social and emotional well-being through activities and workshops. It’s all about helping them thrive, inside and outside the classroom.

Expectations:

A volunteer will be connected to one/two/ or more students
Interactions will be twice a week ideally lasting one hour to one and half hours each.
Content and training will be provided by AXF teams
Volunteers must attend the orientation and the trainings
Volunteers are expected to mark attendance and provide monthly assessments for the students

Who can apply:

Psychologists, counsellors, or ABT (Arts-Based Therapy) practitioners

Our regular volunteers are stay-at-home mums, retired citizens, and anyone who can spare 2-3 hrs / week. Volunteers must be 23 years or above. Both male and female volunteers are welcome. Meeting with the Centre Head to understand the volunteer's commitment and suitability for the role.

Volunteering Certificate will be issued after completing 55 hours of service with AXF.
Student volunteers will receive a certificate after completing 40 hours of service with AXF
