Sisters Living Works is launching a Suicide Prevention Helpline to provide compassionate, confidential, and timely emotional support to individuals experiencing distress. Rooted in empathy, active listening, and ethical care, the helpline seeks to create a safe and non-judgmental space where people can express themselves, feel heard, and access support during difficult moments.
As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals navigating emotional pain, loneliness, crisis, or uncertainty. Your primary responsibility will be to offer empathetic listening, hold space for conversations without judgment, and, where appropriate, guide callers toward relevant resources. All volunteers will undergo structured training and will be supported through ongoing supervision by qualified mental health professionals.
Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of 1 year and contribute 4 hours per week from our Kandivali office in Mumbai. Consistency, reliability, and emotional responsibility are essential, given the nature of the role.
